Mike Trotzke

This is the website of Mike Trotzke. It exists primarily so that every night his wife doesn't have to wait for him to find lost URLs to show her sites she doesn't really care to see. Who is this Mike Trotzke?

—- Sorry to friends reading, you can ignore this post ——-

Marco says here: “Tumblr reblogs and additional posts are viewed by the complete audiences of at least three websites, and more people have been involved in the conversation. “

Sounds great… but it’s not. I had to read his post 3 times just to figure out what the heck he was talking about. I’m an anonymous reader that just enjoys the stuff on Marco’s tumblelog… I read in reverse order. Marco isn’t on my friend list. I’m not sitting staring at my dashboard all day. So this post out of context makes little sense to me. The post I’m entering now will make little sense to my friends stopping by.

What I love about tumblr is that I use it. It just happens. I digg or bookmark or hit the button. It’s automatic. I like the idea of comments on other blogs showing up on your tumblr— involving people in the conversation.

Have you considered treating comments like a link from digg or a del.icio.us bookmark— just another activity that is automatically tracked?

Commenting or ‘replying’ would automatically add something to your tumblr as well as leaving it in the context of the original post. A link to the original post along with an optional quote and the comment.

I think you should be able to post without a tumblr account, but if you didn’t have an account it would be a great time to get one started. Your first tumblr entry would be ready to go. It would be a great way for you to add new users in viral way.
