Mark Splitz planned to shave his body before the the Munich Olympics. But while practicing he noticed the competition was paying more attention to the hair on his lip than their own swimming technique. The Russians inquired about his stunning stache. Spitz explained that the moustache helped him swim faster because it moved the water away from his mouth.
Then he proceded to win 7 gold medals.
He donned the metals proudly, but their shininess paled in comparison to the appeal of his lovely Lip Bush. “Next time, all the Russian swimmers had moustaches. Even the East German women,” Spitz said.
